Magic Hold’em Real Time Texas Hold’em Odds Calculator

Magic Hold’em is an odds calculator that can help a player determine what moves they should make when holding certain cards. It was created with the help of professional poker players and statistic experts. To begin using the software you first must download Magic Hold’em.

Magic Hold’em currently has a free trial offer for new customers. Once you click on the offer you begin downloading the software and are then directed to some great offers on how to get the software free. The site will offer you a free lifetime license to use the software and all you have to do is choose the poker room you would like to play at. You can also buy a one year license for $89.95 which is $20 off the original price.

After the installation process you will see the screen for your free trial. When you sit at your poker table, the Magic Hold’em software will automatically detect your game and will be ready to help you determine your odds. The software is designed with different calculation modes for play money, real money and tournament tables. Once you begin playing, the odds calculator is placed on the outside of your tournament table window. It has the odds of you vs. the best, deck card probability, game info, pot odds and outs.

Magichold’em will also rank your hand and display it right over your current table. You can click on any of these categories to receive the appropriate information. I think the coolest feature is a small line of information that sits on the poker table. It is constantly giving you information on your hand compared to what is happening in real time. For example, if you are going to bet, check or raise even updating as your opponent is deciding what to do, the information is constantly changing according to your position.

The MagicHold’em website has a list of all the online poker rooms that can be used to obtain a free license. It also has a list of poker rooms that are supported by the MagicHold’em software. I downloaded the free trial myself and used it on my Full Tilt Poker games. It was really helpful on helping me decide which move I wanted to make. The information that MagicHold’em provides was especially helpful by making my decision easier on hands that I might not normally want to fold or hold. It creates a whole new meaning to the phrase “you got to know when to hold’em, know when fold’em.”

The popular online poker site today announced that Scott Ian will be representing Ultimate Bet in Operation: All-In, a charity No Limit Hold'em tournament featuring poker players, celebrities, and mixed-martial-arts fighters playing poker together with the aim of raising money to help injured soldiers.

"We're thrilled to be a part of this worthy charity poker tournament," stated UltimateBet.com spokesperson George MacLean. "And there's no better celebrity poker player to represent us at the tables than Scott Ian."

He finished first in the event, beating out Sully Erna of Godsmack and winning a seat in the 2007 UltimateBet.com Aruba Poker Classic tournament.

It was in Aruba, while spending a week with 10-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and legendary world champion Annie Duke, that Ian sharpened his poker skills even further. He plans to use the valuable poker tips and tricks he learned from the two UltimateBet pros to finish first in the charity event.

Online Poker Guides; Poker Bonus Codes

With so many online poker guides available, it can be difficult to sort through them all, weeding out the not-so-informative ones to get to the most reliable, frequently updated guides, with real information about only the most respected online poker rooms. Poker Bonus Codes are probably the most commonly sought after. Therefore, I have to recommend the online poker guide at PokerBonusCodes.com.

Poker Bonus Codes are categorized in several ways. You'll find online poker rooms that accept US players, like a valuable Full Tilt Poker Code worth as high as $600. Online poker rooms that do not accept US players receive their own section, along with Reload Bonuses, both consistent and promotional.

While viewing the respective bonus codes for each online poker room, you'll be privileged to a fully detailed, in-depth review of the poker portal. Take for example the UltimateBet Bonus Code. Along with the bonus information is a description of the software, including standard and special features and functionality. Discover the highlights of the online poker room that caused it to become successfully renowned in the industry.

In addition to the informative poker bonus codes and reviews, PokerBonusCodes.com offers general poker information as well. Read various poker strategies, poker articles and find out what poker books are most recommended by skilled players and poker pros.

The online poker bonus guide gets a full recommendation from me for it's ease of use, user-friendly navigation and wealth of useful information.

Cake Poker Offering Irish Poker Open Satellite Packages

Race for the Rake invites online poker players to sign up for popular poker room Cake Poker using a specific cake poker bonus code. Upon creating their account, Cake Poker room players will start their new cake poker experience with a pretty decent 100% Bonus match that caps out at $500.
Once you've signed up -using the cake poker rake race bonus code- provided by Race for a Seat they can sign up on the Race for a Seat home page and begin their own rake race. After that is completed Race for a Seat staff members will calculate the poker rake earned by each player, a leaderboard is provided on the site, and updated daily.

So what's the point you say...

Well I've talked to the owner of Race for a Seat about this race raking tournament, and actually the stakes are quite high.

Each month, the player at the top of the list, the one that really grinds it out and puts in his time at the poker table will win a seat at the BIG BANG.

Still confused I know, but I shall come to the point. The BIG BANG is an exciting, and extremely exclusive 9 man (or woman) sit n go, paying the top place finisher a seat in his/her favorite major poker event. Now there is a 10k cap on that prize, but c'mon, you can play the WSOP main event for 10k, what more were you hoping for.

If you're not familiar with Cake Poker check you can check out the Rake Race Cake Poker Review.

Poker Wisdom, the Rules, and Reasons

It is imperative when playing a game of poker that you have some sense of the rules. In fact, even the rules that are let's say not quite as important as the others, the smaller rules that no one really knows of or follows can save you a few chips in a poker game.

For instance, if you've ever played at a casino, you probably know what a string raise at a holdem table is. You also likely know that if your opponent should cross that virtual or actual line on a poker table with his chips, making the call, and then with his other hand, he brings out more chips, that's a call. It's not a raise, the raise he tried to make is invalid, and we chasers, well we can see the next card without paying the raise hit our flush for free, and win the hand.

A definitely advantageous reason to know your poker rules. During last years World Series of Poker a rule was made on the fly, this rule was a misinterpretation of another rule, but as rules made in the WSOP often are, it is now set in stone and has been put into use in poker rooms around the world. It's the show one show all Texas Holdem rule.

The rule 'show one show all' was originally made to be a tournament rule, if you show one player in a tournament your hand, you must show all players, this way every player in the tournament has the same chance to judge your play, build their knowledge of you and of course beat you in the end.

The rule was misinterpreted last year though, when a WSOP player showed one of his cards, and not the other. The ruling was made in the 'show one show all case' and the player was made to show the second card. I myself have recently been made to show the second card due to the misunderstanding of this rule.

If I'd had a better handle on up to date poker rules, I'd have realized this and other incredulous Texas Holdem rules was actually written into law as far as the world of professional poker goes.

Many many poker games are spin offs of seven card stud, so when you set off to learn your poker rules, though NL is the most popular game, you really do want to learn 7 Card Stud Rules

So while brushing up on my knowledge of Texas holdem rules, and learning Stud rules, I found not only those rules on a poker site, but rules for a couple other popular online poker games. Mixed poker games have really become popular at the little club where I play. I want to play, but I just haven't learned all the ins and outs of so many of these little games.

At a mixed game, if you can name it and it's rules, cards in the air! So half the fun here is naming a game no one has ever heard of. Or at least a game that not everyone is real good at, So I checked out Omaha 8/b Rules as well, and what do you know, I picked up a few checks.

Going a step further, with casino bonuses in particular, the reviews will provide necessary information of what games may or may not count towards releasing the bonus. Blackjack, for instance, isn't always considered a part of meeting wagering requirements - Casino Bonus Pages has gone that extra step to let you know. The online gambling bonus guide even reveals the lowest House Advantage (listed as "HA") game that can be played counting towards the bonus release.

Happy Bonus Hunting! :)

Benefitting from Poker Loyalty Programs

Written by Kelli Smithgall

The main premise of a Online Poker or Casino Loyalty Program is to make players feel they made a good choice in their particular poker site. As far as Poker Loyalty Programs, there is a vast majority of different ones in the world of online poker. Loyalty programs are set up in online poker rooms as a way of giving players back portions of the money they have spent; some programs you sign up for and some are automatic enrollment.

The following are different types of Poker Loyalty Programs:

Poker Rakeback Programs

Raffles - Lotteries

Frequent Player Points

Special-Hand Bonuses

Reload Bonuses

One-Off Promotions

Bad Beat Jackpots

Pay-for-Play Offers

Refer-a-Friend Bonuses

Rake-Back Programs

Many poker rooms do not openly advertise rakebacks or proposition player deals. Another way however to obtain this deal is to visit a rakeback website. Highly reputable online poker rooms will advertise and offer to their players these loyalty programs. Usually once a month a percentage of a player’s money they used will be given back to them.

For low stake players, the rake is low and not much is received back. The player will find it harder to climb the rakeback system in order to earn higher percentages.

High stake players receive plentiful rakeback because they can pay up to thousands of dollars each month so the rakeback makes great bankroll.

Raffles/Lotteries

Raffles and Lottery programs are luck of the draw promotions and can be awarded to players off of cash or tournament entries. Some are free entry and others may be part of a players contributing rake.

Frequent Player Points Programs

This program is similar to a rake that is contributed by a player, but they earn points. Points may be redeemed in a poker room’s points shop, used for buy-ins to tournaments or converted into cash. Programs are often run by levels where each level means a higher gathering of points per hand and its run for a certain time period. This has an effect on the amount of points the player will earn in the future.

Special-Hand Bonuses

This is a great program for low stakes players who want a little more kick to their poker game. The program award players prizes when they hold certain hands like high pairs or different straight flushes.

Reload Bonuses

Reload Bonuses are given so players will be loyal to a poker site. The bonuses occur as a fixed sum or a percentage of the players deposited amount when a players redeposit money to a poker site. These bonuses are either automatically awarded or awarded as a part of a player’s point’s promotion. Winning players who do not have to reload usually do not utilize this bonus program.

One-off Promotions

A One-off Promotion is a promotion that occurs only one time. Say you are a player at a certain poker site, and then you are given one free entry in a freeroll qualification to win an entry into a highstakes tournament like “Aussie Millions” or “Absolute Dream Package”.

Bad Beat Jackpots

Qualifications for Bad Beat Jackpots vary from poker site to poker site. It may include a minimum hand rank required in order to be considered a bad beat or a stake level. Sometimes the Jackpot is distributed among other players in the game. Most of the time the winning Bad Beat hand is a hand of at least a full house with jacks, queens and king or both hole cards (cards dealt to each player face down at the beginning of a hand).

Payouts are different depending on the poker site. The losing hand usually receives about 50% of the Jackpot sum and then 40% is shared between the winning hand and the other players in the game. The next jackpot prize gets the remaining 10% to get it started.

Low stakes players benefit from these jackpots because they do not have to put too much money in to play a “losing” hand and win a large payout. Whereas it may not be that beneficial to high stake players to lose a hand in order to receive the jackpot.

Pay-for-Play Offers

Pay-for-Play Offers allow players to begin a new table or having their rake reduced while playing at a full table. It’s based on a fixed number of hours to play per month with an hourly or per hand payment. Pay-for-play offers are great for all players, no matter what game or limit they compete at. The downside is that the amount a player can earn is usually quite low, and it can be boring to sit and wait for people to join your table.

Refer-a-Friend Bonus

The Refer-a-Friend Bonus is exactly that, you refer a friend to a poker site and after that player signs up and deposits money to play, you get a bonus.

The following are a few Poker Sites offering some of the best Poker Loyalty Programs

Absolute Poker

Full Tilt Poker

Party Poker

Ultimate Bet

Doyles Room

Everest Poker

JuJungle Poker

CelebPoker

Ladbrokes Poker

AnAnd my personal favorite; Bodog Poker

The important factor in finding a good Loyalty Program at a poker site is to do your homework and compare different poker site loyalty programs before you sign up. Figuring out which sites would be more conducive for adding that extra playing benefit for playing at their site will make your poker playing all that more enjoyable and profitable.

Major Software Upgrade At Online Poker Room

Pacific Poker has just received a complete overhaul in the software that further enhances the many features of the online poker room. A part of the 888.com Network, Pacific Poker has upgraded their navigation, graphics and multi-lingual capabilities.

Players at Pacific Poker will now enjoy vibrant, 3D avatars while playing the various online poker games. The new interactive lobby now features more personalized navigation. Enhancements were made to the tournament arena as well, now offering more multi-tabling options, as well as re-buys and add-ons.

Free Online Poker: Real Cash/Prizes, No Deposits

Since the UIGEA was enacted in October, 2006, many US players are seeking a new, legal way to play poker for more than just fun. Several online poker rooms have opened their doors, offering real cash and/or prizes for tournament player and leaderboards, without the players ever depositing a penny.

Among these sites are NLOP, Ujogo, Prizewagon, and NoPayPoker.

Each of these online poker rooms turns a profit by relying on sponsorship advertising. That profit is increased if players click the advertising banners and make use of the sponsor by signing up for something or making a purchase, but either way, the free online poker room still earns a profit. The more profit the online poker room earns, the more they are able to award their players in cash and/or prizes.

Notably, NLOP.com National League of Poker, opened it's virtual doors in June of 2006, before the UIGEA was passed. In October of 2006, the online poker room was already servicing 30,000 members. Their numbers have risen significantly to about 152,000 post-UIGEA.

The free online poker room boasts a monthly profit averaging $125,000 from sponsorships and guarantees a minimum of $25,000 paid out each month in cash and prizes to their tournament winners and top players. The NLOP reportedly mailed out 3,000+ checks ranging from $5 to $500 to their members in October, 2007.

For all of you poker enthusiasts in the US searching for an exciting way to play for legal rewards - and I know there are many - Any of the free online poker rooms above are highly recommended. The quality of play is spectacular, it's perfectly legal and there's absolutely no risk as you'll never be asked to deposit a single penny.

Bad Beat Mania: Jackpot Multiples At Online Poker Room

The Ultimate Bet online poker room is quite famous for their Bad Beat Jackpot, and even more so now as it was hit twice in a single day. October 25th at 6:29am and again just 4 hours later.

A poker player going by the username ITALIC hit the first bad beat jackpot, worth about $600,000, with quad 8's losing to quad Aces.
